About Me

Originally from Los Angeles, California and Seattle, Washington, I have been working in the domains of blogging, web marketing and visibility and search engine optimization since 2007 (along with living in France since 2000, which has sometimes been a full-time occupation in and of itself). The intersection of web and marketing, and the creation of online communities, is familiar, natural and passionately exciting to me.  And as I am also a teacher by nature, I enjoy helping others to find ways to use the web for effective marketing.

I create effective web presence for my clients, and I also teach them to do this for themselves.

How did I get here? I started blogging simply as a way to keep in touch with far-flung family and friends. I was soon intrigued by the possibilities blogging had to offer, and decided to launch my own blog. Little did I know how this decision would change my life and career path.

I was accepted in a master’s program in marketing at the Grenoble Graduate School of Business at about the same time I began to blog seriously.  I completed my MSc in Marketing in June 2009. My dissertation thesis was on the impact of language and culture on social media marketing in emerging markets like the Middle East.

Earning a marketing degree was a natural evolution to take my online work to a new level. The tools and training that I have acquired through my practical work as a blogger and through my graduate studies now help me work with companies, associations, and individuals to develop or improve their presence on the web.
